Not much trouble setting it up. Outside sensor works well from the exterior wall of my bedroom about 15-20 feet away. Readings jive with my Davis weather station. However Amazon and Honeywell's websites both indicate this product has a blue back light. There is not reference to this on the packaging or the owners manual. I emailed customer support for guidance. I'll let you know what they say.

This thing is a royal pain to set up, and even then if you are fussy enough to actually want the sensor "outdoors," you're in for trouble. I could not get it to transmit 25 feet through a line of sight window for more than a few hours.
It's a toy, and not a very good one at that. It reminded me of the "walkie talkies" kids used to have, that worked only while you and your friend were within 5 feet of each other!

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, mine actually read the outdoor temperature transmitter for about a year, now it's dead. Fresh batteries, sitting right next to each other, no luck.

I think the transmitter actually still works, it's the base that has issues. The base still works as a thermometer, but it just got tired of looking for the signal from the outdoor transmitter. The only way I can get it to work is to remove the batteries from the base...wait, put them back in...it will look for the transmitter for a while and get a reading...then it gets tired of that and gives me dashed lines.

I've tried everything, the thing is just broken. The sad thing is, I just used mine within the house for zone heating purposes...it never had to deal with the elements or anything, never dropped, blocked signals...nothing...it just simply stopped working.

I purchased this because I wanted a thermometer and hygrometer and have heard about the Honeywell brand before. They are used in many places as sensors. This one also looks great!

I can't comment on the accuracy (as opposed to the precision) as I have not validated the readings against any other instrument yet. The temperature seems to be correct from what I know otherwise though. In some of the other reviews I read the meter gives wrong readings and the main unit and its satellite unit don't correspond. I have had them both the same place and the temperature corresponds within a degree (I haven't seen it vary by more than 0.5 deg. C as yet). The humidity varies by about 2% (maximum) so far though, but that isn't a big deal for me.

Unless you want *absolute* precision, I would recommend this!

On the delivery and waiting period, I actually had to wait several months to get this, but I don't mind since I wasn't in a rush (and Amazon doesn't charge you until it is shipped! :) ). They didn't have it in stock I guess, though that wasn't stated so on the site.

I purchased a Soleus Air Dehumidifier (see review) and decided it would be wise to verify that the dehumidifier did actually work properly, that is, it brought the humidity down to the selected level (50%), then the compressor turned off.

This device and the dehumidifier are working in synch!

It is easy to read with out a lot of junk cluttering the diplay, such as people in coats, time, hi-low extremes that can't be removed, etc. The disply is as shown, the only extra icon is the small face for wet, dry, and a simple algorithm that gives a smiley face and 'com'(comfort), if the indoor temp and RH are in a certain range. I have mine cycling between idoor/outdoor every 4 secs.
The temp indication is accurate, I can't vouch for the RH, probably 'relatively' accurate for an electronic humidity gauge.
