Great Price Taylor 9848E for

Waterproof Digital Thermometer -40 degrees to 450 degrees Ferinheight / -40 degrees to 230 degreesC Review

I purchased this thermometer for cooking. I use it for grilling, roasting and frying.

Most digital cooking thermometers are not water-proof. Most digital thermometers are not even
splash-proof. Most cannot be cleaned without destroying them.

This one has survived for over one month. I wash it in soap and water.

The only negatives with this thermometer are:
1. Can take 30 seconds to get a good reading. "Instant" is a marketing term.
2. Probe cover does double duty as a extension handle so that your hands don't have to get
too close to the fire. However, the cover detaches to easily from the unit and leaves
me holding the plastic cover as the thermometer falls to its death.

Taking the temperature of your dog

If your dog seems to be feeling bad, you must take the temperature to determine if the fever. Fortunately, the temperature of a dog is a relatively simple process. Moreover, learning to properly take the temperature of your pet, your veterinarian can help you more complete information to diagnose or your pet.

Take the dog's rectal temperature

Most dogs do not like their rectal temperature taken, but may be necessary. If so, you are unable to take the temperature with the following:

or helping someone with the celebration of your pet in town
Or Use KY jelly, petroleum jelly or other water-based lubricant to lubricate a substance thermometer
Or you have an assistant to embrace the front of your dog's body firmly
Increase your dog or the tail and insert the thermometer into the rectum slowly and carefully
or keepingThermometer rather than> when they have an inch into the rectum
Or keep the thermometer in place for two minutes with a mercury thermometer or until it sounds when you use a digital thermometer

The temperature of your pet should be somewhere from 100.5 to 102.5 degrees Celsius, if to be taken rectally.

Take the temperature of your dog's ears

You can also the temperature of your pet through the ear. The eardrum is a really nice placebody temperature of purchase, as there is a temperature measurement of the blood in the brain increases. Using an ear thermometer, infrared heat waves emitted from the area measured.

With the temperature of your pet with an ear thermometer, the thermometer dipping into the ear canal. There is also a good idea to use an ear thermometer is that it is mainly for pets such as these, which have more weapons than is possible thermometerPlace the probe into the ear.

It 's a good idea to keep both the rectal temperature and ear temperature in the few moments the first time an ear thermometer. In this way you can compare accurately the temperature and see how the comparison values. A normal ear temperature is usually 100-103 degrees Fahrenheit.

Call your veterinarian

Anytime the temperature drops a pet under 99 degrees or rises above 104 degrees Fahrenheit, you should see yourveterinarian. If your dog has a fever, is a sign that he is suffering from an infection or illness related to heat. At low temperatures may indicate, however, strikes or other serious illnesses.

If your dog shows any of these signs, take your temperature and call your veterinarian if you are outside the normal range:

or lethargy
Eating and drinking, or less than usual
or change the general behavior, especially as a "bad mood"
OTumors or inflammation
Hide or
or wound drainage

If you follow your veterinarian, he or she will probably run some blood tests to better identify the problem and provide your pet with the right treatment.

Customer Reviews

two uses then probe insulation went away and probe doesn't work - Brian D - Seattle, WA
Think it's a great idea, but poorly implemented. The temperature probe if left in grilling meat overheats and becomes useless. Tried to contact manufacture (or more likely reseller) to get replacement probe and they just ignored my request. Would not buy a product from this company again.

Works well well it works - Ronald Moore - western mass
I've had a couple of these. They work good, but after a few uses something apparently breaks in the probe, and that's it.

How to grate cheese like a pro

If you understand the concepts of grated cheese, you should know that the technique depends primarily on three factors.

Plate making
Type of cheese (Colby, Parmesan, Cheddar, etc. ..)
Type grater (electricity, labor, etc. .. dish)
The court, you are making

First, we give you an idea of the recipe, such skills will be needed to grate the cheese right. If the dough? Maybe it's the pizza? Or maybe just cheeseon toast. Different foods require different cheeses and different textures of cheese, which brings me to the next factor.

The nature of the cheese

Grate the cheese, with great ease and others simply do not mesh at all. Harder, firm cheese is generally very well be down the grid, while the fresh cheeses are best. Motzarella usually broken by the head of grated Parmesan cheese pizza and pasta is almost always in fine food. YouYou can also use slices of Parmesan cheese and turn it into a fine powder.

Type grater

Most people use a hand grater normal home, but that is not always the best option. Rotary graters are a great option, and the shots of grating. In general, the use of these two types of lattice, if you purchase the cooking for the masses and the use of hard cheese you at the supermarket. If necessary, parmesan cheese grater type itself is much thinner than the otherRubbing.

The maintenance of kitchen knives

After examining all options for the purchase of knives and finally decided to buy the newest member of your kitchen. If the new plant knives are very sharp. It will continue for several months. Then, overnight it seems, are bored. One day, I try to cut a tomato and the knife does not cut through them, the reverse. The juice and seeds to cover your board. Now you know, it's time to sharpen the knife. And 'likelyClearly, all ending their decisions when you made the purchase. But it is not. Now you can choose how to sharpen a knife. And perhaps more importantly, what kind of care will in the future. There are some things to consider.

First, you know the electric can opener with sharpener on the back? Never used, never. The opener is an opener. Was not designed to sharpen a knife. Secondly, some care in choosing a cutting board.Wood and plastic are good choices. Always avoid metal and marble. They ruin even the best blades. And the knives that we have at home is often not the best! Third ever: put the knife in the drawer loosely. Not only dangerous, it's bad for the blades. Keep them in a block of wood or metal strips. And finally, always hand wash the knife. Do not put them in the dishwasher. The heat can damage the handles and it is good bang them against othercovered.

Once you have a good maintenance is essential to have a sharp knife to the regular schedule. Instead of waiting until the blade is dull note is a good idea to sharpen regularly. We have already noted that using the knife in the back of a can opener is a no-no. Many owners sharpen knives with a sharpening steel, which together with a knife storage block of wood. A better way to sharpen knives with a stone. And not just any stone. A stone of Arkansas is often used, or a Japanese water stone. Each is the best result.

If you are not willing to sharpen their knives, too, but really sharp, which can lead to a local trade professionally sharpened. Or you can send them to a national distribution.
